About Little Adventures
Little Adventures are start-to-finish illustration courses designed to be doable, repeatable, and full of small wins. Every adventure follows four simple steps — study, prepare, practice, and imagine — that make creating feel manageable and fun. You'll study your inspiration, prepare your supplies, practice with project breakdowns, and then imagine your finished illustration into something wonderfully your own. It's how I work in my own studio, one small steady step at a time.
Imagine the Possibilities
She's graceful, strong-willed, and painted entirely in blue. In Willablue, you'll illustrate a Delft and willow-pattern inspired heroine — a character drawn from the tradition of porcelain storytelling, surrounded by the patterned borders, blue-washed florals, and quiet details that give her world depth and feeling. You'll move through the illustration in three distinct layers: gentle pencil lines, then crisp penwork, then a limited watercolor palette that feels timeless and intentional. The result is a story scene that feels like it could have lived on the side of a porcelain plate — and now lives on your paper instead.
Unlock a New Skill
With a background in graphic design and fine art, I create illustrations that tell hidden stories. What sets Willablue apart is the discipline of a limited blue palette — learning to build an entire illustration with range, depth, and emotion using only shades of one color. You'll practice moving from pencil to pen to paint in sequence, understanding how each layer does a different job: the pencil finds the form, the pen commits the line, and the watercolor fills the world with feeling. Working within constraint is its own creative skill, and Willablue is a beautiful place to discover how much expression lives inside a single color.
Build Your Craft
Willablue is built around the pleasures of careful, layered work — the kind where each stage prepares you for the next. You'll practice the Delft-inspired motifs individually first: florals, borders, soft silhouettes, the small decorative details that give the scene its porcelain feeling. Step-by-step video instruction moves alongside DIY practice at every stage, so you're always building confidence before moving forward. By the time you sit down with the full illustration, the penwork feels steady, the blue palette feels like home, and your heroine has a beautifully patterned world waiting to hold her. That slow, deliberate progression from study to finished piece creates a depth that shorter classes simply can't match.
